Students may apply for membership to Student Council each spring for the following school year. Students who wish to join should exhibit good character and citizenship and be both dependable and responsible. Members must be able to come before school or stay after school for planned and called meetings.

Students who wish to run for office will be given appropriate information in the spring of each year from their sponsors and current officers.

Student Council sponsors school dances, fundraisers, Spirit Week, and other activities that involve all students at Pickens Middle. Student Council members are eligible to attend the regional rallies each year to promote camaraderie with local councils.
